The Company 

Our client is a GTA based retail company with a global footprint, growing steadily with approximately 120 locations and an ecommerce business.

Position Mandate

In this newly created position, the President will provide oversight and direction to ensure operationalizing of the company’s strategic vision, partnering with the CEO, Executive Team and the Board to create strategy, with overall accountability for the company’s financial performance. 

The initial focus of the new President will be to drive growth through imaginative and assertive marketing innovation, eCommerce and information management strategies and execution.

This is an in-office position located at the company’s head office, west GTA

Position Contributions and Impact

  • Lead the operationalizing of the company’s strategy to achieve relative to key performance metrics 
  • Drive the company’s growth by ensuring strategic and operational alignment. Ensure that the company is structured to compete effectively within evolving competitive dynamics, constant improvement, and innovation, while strategy is pragmatic, fresh and current.
  • Direct and lead the company’s performance within the context of its’ ‘Profitable Partnership’ philosophy 
  • Assess, review, and improve digital strategy, adding new technologies, sophistication and enhanced measurement and control. Drive the eCommerce model to ensure relevancy and that the digital strategy overall is designed to enhance performance.
  • Ensure corporate decisions continually support Unit Level economics that drive the success of company, drive store sales at reasonable gross margins to make them profitable and to grow their profits.
  • Live and act the customer service-oriented culture of the company
  • Foster positive relationships with stores. Deliver useful training, support, oversight, preferred provider programs and services.
  • Relentlessly manage the Brand including through stewardship of the Brand Fund. Seek to drive brand awareness, customer growth and store sales.
  • Champion the development and retention of an engaged, performance-oriented workforce, where projects are completed, plans are implemented, and results are achieved.

Experience

  • Strength in strategic marketing, including depth in digital marketing, customer journey, user experience to maximize effectiveness of the business model.
  • Direct experience in an ecommerce business model, with ability to shape direction and enhance effectiveness, applying an understanding of the supplier/vendor, customer/franchisee eco-system is an asset.
  • Experience improving and enhancing supplier relationships, third-party partnerships, product/service development, and project management.
  • P/L experience for a stand-alone company or business unit.
  • Managed a team with multiple direct reports.
  • International experience is valuable.

  • Significant knowledge, skill and innovation in digital and traditional marketing, eCommerce and Information Technology.
